Every member of the BCI team is a fierce advocate for gender equality. Around the world, we have met and worked with courageous women and men who struggle to combat gender-based violence and discriminatory rules and traditions that prevent women from participating as full citizens. We work with women in political parties, women in parliament and women-focused civil society organisations around the world to develop strategies that empower women and girls to engage in political processes.
We understand the intersection between policy solutions and practical action. Having lived in some of the most conservative and traditional societies, BCI’s consultants know that one size does not fit all. Meaningful gender equality requires sustained action and mobilisation of everyone.
At BCI we are committed to ensuring everyone has the same access to the political process free of intimidation and violence. Our team and network of consultants have worked in some of the most challenging environments and also with the most corageous activists. We examine the barriers to political participation of women in elections, in parliaments and at the grassroots.
Our team has worked on mitigating electoral violence projects, developing and supporting quotas, and training activists all over the world.
