BCI Bulletin - Kosovo Extraordinary Elections and More

They’re at it again!

Kosovo

Yup, Kosovo is going to elections - again.  It is the third National Assembly election in four years – third time the charm?  It might be…

These are extraordinary elections which are out of the usual cycle because the government was dissolved, and snap elections called.

A lot going on there, and it may be tough to wrap your mind around, so we are trying to help everyone wade through the whos? whats? and whys?  The when is easy; February 14th 2021, the Valentine’s Day elections.

You can read more on our blog post or watch the short video conversations between BCI’s Carlo Binda and Jetmir Bakija, a civil society activist in Kosovo.  Carlo and Jetmir discuss the parties’ messages and campaigns.

Working with women Gambian political activists

The great BCI team had the opportunity to work with a group of energetic and determined women in the Gambia who will take leadership roles in political processes.  In partnership with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and the Community of Democracies, Francesca Binda and Vicky Zwein delivered two online leadership trainings over a couple of months.  In between, the women received mentoring and coaching from an outstanding Gambian lawyer and civil society activist, Musu Bakoto Sawo, who recently won the Daily Trust’s African of the Year award for her tireless work to end violence against girls and women, including child marriage and female genital mutilation.

New Exciting Products

Personal Consultant 3

BCI has launched its online shop and will continue stocking new training packages, online consulting services, and resources that allow clients to pick and choose what is best for their needs.  If you don’t find what you need in our shop, get in touch to discuss your needs.

Why have a shop for consulting and training services, well Covid-19 made us do it,  and we are happy we did.

Responding to the realities of pandemic times, BCI has developed several online products for our partners and clients.  We have all had to adapt to the challenges of the ‘new normal’, but there are significant opportunities as well.

Efficiency – we can engage more frequently with a larger number of our partners and beneficiaries in multiple locations.

New engagements – we aren’t just working with the ‘regular suspects’ any longer.  Working online has allowed us to reach people who, for various reasons, could not attend in-person events.  This provides new opportunity to people who were previously seeking meaningful engagement and new skills.

Creativity – This new reality has unleashed our team’s creative side, and its reflected in the work we are doing.  We’ve had to think out-of-the training room.  Find interesting ways to share our team’s deep and rich experience.
